Meet the Artist
My belief is that everyone is beautiful. And so, as they sit before me and are framed by my cameras lens, they are. The true Portrait Artist is trained to capture inner beauty. But for me, it's about more than just training--it's my passion.
During the journey to hone my skills in this wonderful artform, I was fortunate enough to be mentored by two veteran Portrait Photographers: Terry and Pat Moore. They shared their love of portraiture with me and stirred to life this passion that lives within me to this day.
What does this mean to you, as someone looking for a Professional Photographer? It means that every detail of the portraiture process is important to me. More than just the photographs themselves, it's my desire for the experience to remain a joyful and treasured memory.
I believe it's important to give those who seek my professional services a glimpse into the soul of the artist, as it were. Capturing an image, whether through painting or photography, is an artform of a personal nature. But I'm sure you also have questions about my credentials.
I'm certified through Professional Photographers of America (PPA.com), an organization of which I'm a member. I believe being capable of offering the highest standard of products and services available in one's industry of choice has everything to do with keeping up with that industry's trends and technology. Continuing education is something I feel every professional needs to make time for.
My professional awards include:
- Kodak Gallery Award
- Fuji Masterpiece Award
- Judges choice and First Place Portrait Award in state and regional competitions against hundreds of my peers.
I'm a big believer in giving back to my community. My current involvement in the community includes work with the military and local prgrams like CASA. I believe God gave each of us a talent and we are to use it to help those around us. This is my way.
But by far what I am most proud of is my family! I have a wonderful husband who totally supports me in following my dream. And my two adorable children who even let me photograph them on occasion.
Life is too short to not do what you love. Find out what exactly that is and then by all means share it with others!
